The colour is white-gold, steel, starbright. Ethereal aromatics: musk, talcum, spice, graphite, minerals, quartz, cinnamon, Ruby Grapefruit zest, river pebbles in the bubbling brook. The perfume of Eden Valley riesling on a gentle late Summer’s zephyr. There, but as if invisible. Dry. Long. Searing acidity coupled to a textural mouthfeel. And then a deep core of tightly wound and pristine, pure citrus fruits: lime, lemon, some mandarin and then small, tart oranges; kumquat and grapefruit, finger lime and Buddha’s hand. The acidity cleans everything away at the back palate, refreshed as if sluiced by soft, cool mineral water. The steely spine and structure is undefeatable, however, and you are once again ready for another sip.
